MRG Flex
Mobile power analyzers with RCM, MRG 512-PRO PQ Flex and MRG 96-PQ-L-LP Flex
MRG Flex is Janitza's portable measuring case: an analyzer of the kind installed permanently in panels, with its Rogowski current coils and voltage taps, packed into a rugged case and ready to record power quality and residual current wherever the question is. The coils clamp around the conductors without interrupting the supply, so the case goes into an existing panel in minutes — for a short-term power quality study at several points, a fault search at a remote station, a cross-check of installed meters without removing them, or the load of a construction site or an event. The data is evaluated in GridVis®, and the measurements also show whether a permanent analyzer is needed at all. It comes in two versions. The MRG 512-PRO PQ Flex carries a UMG 512-PRO and measures to Class A of IEC 61000-4-30, with transients, interharmonics, 256 MB of memory and a three-hour UPS that keeps recording through a power failure. The MRG 96-PQ-L-LP Flex carries a UMG 96-PQ-L-LP in a 3 kg case with a laptop backpack, and covers 10 to 8000 A with its Rogowski coils.

Applications
- Power Quality SolutionsPower quality problems such as harmonics, voltage sags and swells, flicker, transients and voltage unbalance can occur in electrical systems. They can arise from non-linear loads, sudden load changes, network events and the electrical structure of the facility itself. Poor power quality can cause overheating in equipment, nuisance tripping, energy losses, shorter equipment life and interruptions to production continuity. At EPKOM we use power quality analyzers to measure and monitor LV and MV systems, recording harmonics, voltage events and the other power quality parameters. We evaluate the resulting data against the relevant standards, such as EN 50160, IEC 61000 and IEEE 519, according to the measurement point and the scope of the application. Following measurement and analysis, we apply active and passive harmonic filters, SVG systems, compensation solutions and power quality monitoring systems according to the needs of the facility, helping the electrical infrastructure run more safely, efficiently and stably.
- Residual Current MonitoringResidual current monitoring (RCM) measures leakage currents in the electrical system continuously, allowing insulation degradation, cabling problems and other electrical faults to be detected at an early stage. Unlike residual current devices (RCD), RCM systems do not cut power the moment a set threshold is exceeded; they monitor leakage current levels continuously and raise a warning before a developing fault reaches a critical level. In data centers, where unplanned outages are critical, this is a significant advantage for operational continuity. With Janitza RCM solutions, leakage currents can be monitored centrally, historical data can be followed and alarm levels can be defined. Continuous monitoring through GridVis makes it possible to track how insulation problems develop and to plan maintenance before a fault occurs.
